Torico Homemade Ice Cream in Jersey City

Torico has been a STAPLE in Jersey City for years. Delicious ice cream and so many flavors to choose from.

What a delicious and sinful ice cream shop!I was lucky enough to walk in for one of their homemade creations, Chocolate Blackout. Normally the wait is forever at this place, but I had come in just at the right time.They have a wide range of ice creams and unique creations, but the Chocolate Blackout has that extreme chocolate flavors that will put you in a chocolate wasted state. It's a good thing I kept it to one scoop otherwise I would be slurring my words as I type.If you're lucky enough to pass by, and sneak in before the crowd then do it. The staff is very helpful, and will allow you to try as many of the ice creams as you wish before choosing your masterpiece.NOTE:If you have a furry friend, they have a curb side window on the side walk to place your order.

Even off season, this place is lively, energetic, and has awesome flavors! Ginger/Green Tea/Ube cone. Staff go above and beyond at this neighborhood fave.

Friendly local ice cream store. Went there on a sunny Sunday for my birthday cake, a beautiful lady introduced all the flavors and how they are made with a lot of patient, and that the rare around here. The cake taste great, very smooth, not so sophisticated but definitely made of genuine materials. Took away one star because no utensils offered. My go to store for ice cream from now on.

They have very interesting ice cream flavors. Had jackfruit which is their spring summer flavor. The kiddie size is big enough with a generous single scoop. Regular is double and large is triple scoops.

The staff was friendly very welcoming and made sure that everyone followed the store covid 19 guidelines. I tried the seasonal Jackfruit icecream which was delicious, light and perfect for the 90degree weather and i also had the chance to try the leechee ice cream which I will go for next time. It taste like the actual fruit full of flavors but not too sweet. This ice cream definitely holds up the 3 generations of family history.

Update: They have reopened! Got the cherry pistachio again, just as wonderful as last time. Ordered online, picked up the order from table in front of the takeout window, everything was very safe. Original review: Finally tried Torico, after several times of passing by, and it was worth it. I got a pint of the pistachio cherry and I loved it! I have not had traditional homemade ice cream in a long time, the pistachio flavor was light and the cherries were amazingly juicy, with the ice cream having a wonderful creamy texture and not super sweet.

Seriously, best ice cream in town! Not surprised this summer it has been named best ice cream shop in NJ.

Ice creams lovers pls try this out, their ice creams and cakes amazing taste. They have variety of flavors in ice creams and cakes. Try out their unique flavors like oatmeal, avocado, lychee etc.

This place forces you to use their online ordering system even when you are 6ft away and there is a service window. It might not be worth the time having to work with their terrible website and slow checkout system. Really takes the joy out of picking up a scoop of ice cream on a hot day.

Went here about 2 weeks ago. Got the guava gelato, it was amazing. Definitely worth it to beat the heat!

Love the wide range of options and exotic flavors! Ube (purple yam) is excellent with pieces of ube and jackfruit is also great, although a tad artificial perhaps? Please introduce more interesting flavors!

Had to order online. Ordered a cone, because of covid, got a congee with a cup of ice cream and a plastic spoon. Kinda not the point. Ice cream was good though.

Decent ice-cream. The best part here is that they have different sizes and types of cones/ice-creams which gives us many choices

It has a amazing service, atmosphere and ice cream. It is great even in winter. I would definitely suggest going there.

This is the best ice cream in downtown JC. My favorite flavor is the coconut almond joy. The pound cake ice cream is the runner up. I usually get both. Their waffle cones are made in house. Staff is friendly.

Their Vietnamese coffee ice cream was the flavor of the month for February 2020. I have not tasted better coffee flavored icecream!!! Hits the spot, just like an amazing morning coffee!

Great Ice cream place for the whole family, their selection of ice creams is superb, so many choice to try, they also have Italian Ice and Sorbets, staff is friendly and helpful.Ice creams taste really good and are not super sweet compared to other places I've visited.There's some outdoor seating and ambiance is nice and place is bright.Overall a great spot to grab ice cream after brunch or Dinner in the downtown area.

Been a customer of Torico's since I was a teenager in the 80s and to this day, they still go above and beyond with their amazing homemade ice cream! I meant to take a picture of my yummy cup of a scoop each of Coconut Joy and Coffee Royale but it was so good, I forgot to snap one! I did manage to get a picture of the flavor board though... Amazing flavors!

Seriously some of the best ice cream I have ever had in my life. So happy my brother convinced us to stop in. I had the pound cake ice cream and it was seriously like eating a slice of cake. Absolutely delicious.

There’s no other ice cream shop like this one in the entire Tri-State area. Simply delicious. Handmade ice cream is my favorite. Don’t miss a visit in the summertime for the seasonal flavors, there are tropical fruit flavors of fruits you probably didn’t even know existed. 🍦

Went later towards the evening after dinner. It was a great stop. Very inviting interior and even better ice cream. Torico has a great diversity with classic flavors and some more exotic ones. Great customer service and wonderful products, I will definitely be back again.

Torico has the best homemade ice cream going! Delicioso!!! Ice cream is my first, middle, and last favorite food so I should know. I can't believe I have never left a review for this divine place. The almost constant lines should tell you how good this place is. So many unique and usual flavors, melt-in-your-mouth combinations, and just smoothly and simply creamy, rich ice cream. It doesn't get any better. Been going to this place for years! A downtown Jersey City staple. A true gem. Can try any flavor you'd like and everything is always served with a smile. Keep doing what you do, Torico! ; )
